ADIDAS - WE ALL WIN WHEN LGBTQIA+ ATHLETES PLAY

FOR SS22 we were briefed to activate adidas’ Pride campaign in NAM, Europe and China. With the goal to tackle and talk about LGBTQ+ inequality in sports. So we did just that, partnering with the most vocal LGBTQ+ voices in sport we spoke about the issues that matter the most now so we could mobilize the next generation to create actionable change.

We decided that the best way to properly dive (excuse the Tom Daley themed pun) into the topics, we wouldn’t limit the conversation. A daunting task when all interviews and filming would have to be done remotely. The episodes were eventually trimmed to between 16 - 20 minutes in length. Creating a format for the conversation was key in the lead up so directing the content from a distance was doable.

Using Riverside.fm at platform used to record podcasts and videos in studio quality from anywhere. It was ideal for our podcast like content, fully customizable to accommodate our look and feel, without compromising any quality.

Dr. Anna Beath, Director of Research at Athlete Ally and Liz Ward, Director of Programmes at Stonewall UK chatted with Layshia Clarendon (WNBA), Chelsea Gray (WNBA) and Tom Daley. Athletes who are not just performing at the top of their sport, but continue to advocate for acceptance and use their voices for LGBTQIA+ people around the world. They told us why being visible is so important, especially now.
